Hello Key Biscayne!
Sometimes emails will come in asking why a certain story wasn’t covered in here, or a certain event of some sort. That’s because the Rag attempts to not create stories where they don’t exist. Not to say that’s happening here, today. No way, this one is chocked full of content. 🙃
Rumors can also be dangerous territory. It’s definitely not good to spread hearsay, and at the same time there’s a lot of stuff talked about that never makes its way to any serious island publication. Look out for a corroborated rumor report here in the future.
Hangin' out by the side of the road.
That’s that. For now, enjoy.
Ye olde news
Late to the party The Herald decided to write a front page story about our dirty beach problem last week. They don’t cover anything that you haven’t read here over the last six months, and they leave out much of the nuance, but they do have some choice photos of our mayor posing on the beach if you’re into that sort of thing. 👙
Support the Key Biscayne Community Foundation and come party with the who's who of Key Biscayne on Saturday, January 25th. This year's theme has something to do with it being cold, so you can expect to enjoy the night with dinner, music, dancing, ice sculptures, figure skating, a snowball fight, ice fishing, Game of Thrones reenactments by local leaders, liquid nitrogen, snowflakes cut from folded paper, ice cream sundaes, a senior choir singing songs from Frozen, the Jamaican bobsled team, Santa out of his work clothes, A.C.'s icees, and a silent auction. |

On last week’s welcome to 2020:
Somehow you’ve lost perspective. Perhaps you gained 20lbs and woke up with a hangover but I don’t think most people did. Everyone I saw was walking or running, wishing others a happy new year and enjoying the day. Perhaps you need to leave your computer and experience what I consider a fabulous place to live! No need to go to KBCC – just take a walk or ride a bike.

On the copy editors employed by the Rag:
…Gotta give you a hard time for saying “conscious” when you meant “conscience,” though. Not bad for English as a second language.
