Hello Key Biscayne!

You know that feeling that you were supposed to do something but can’t quite figure out what it was? Eh, maybe it’ll come to us later.

Anywho, lots of school talk this week, and a welcome retirement for a big fish in a small pond.

Key Biscayne beachSometimes you get really lucky and no one's there.

Let’s get to it.

Little town, little stories

P(i)TA A recent PTA meeting at KBCS had parents and teachers venting about a variety of issues at the local school. Most of the complaints have been specifically against the principal, and there’s a real feeling that parents want her out. Unfortunately for those parents, and lucky for the principal, it’s up to the Miami-Dade school board whether to replace her. That said, the Village is going to try and help the parents in getting their issues at the school resolved. πŸŽ“

Heyyyyy More than 600 MAST students walked out of class today to protest the so-called β€œDon’t say gay” bill recently passed by the Florida legislature, which prohibits teachers through grade 3 to mention anything about sexual identity or orientation. No word yet if the legislature plans on making rollerblading illegal next. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

That’s all folks After more than thirty years in a tank the size of a tuna can, Lolita the killer whale at the Seaquarium will finally be set free. Just kidding, but they are putting her into retirement by not doing any more whale shows going forward. πŸ‹

From the peanut gallery

More on the multiple unauthorized curbs from a few weeks back:

It’s my understanding the concrete curbs on Allendale/Redwood and Cypress were both built by the same developer. How does he continue to get accidental approval by VKB?
